MythBusters 'Breaking Bad Special' Emmy® Award nomination

16th July 2014

MythBusters has received an Emmy® award nomination in newly created category "Outstanding Structured Reality Program" for its "Breaking Bad Special" episode.

This is Beyond Productions sixth consecutive Emmy® award nomination for MythBusters, which will go up against Antiques Roadshow; Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives; Shark Tank; Undercover Boss; and Who Do You Think You Are?

The 'Breaking Bad Special' episode has Breaking Bad's creator Vince Gilligan and star Aaron Paul join the MythBusters crew to recreate some of the volatile scenes from the TV series to see if they actually hold up in reality.

“Getting our sixth Emmy® award nomination in a row is down to the fantastic team we have on MythBusters - on camera, off camera, in production and in post. We’re thrilled at what this team has achieved and this year’s nominated episode, The Breaking Bad Special, is a fantastic example of how even after 11 years MythBusters can tackle new topics, push the envelope and deliver,” said John Luscombe , General Manager and Senior Vice President of Beyond Productions.

MythBusters has aired on television for 11 years and has achieved great success with loyal fans across the globe.

"We are immensely proud of our show and the fact that our peers have honored us again with this nomination," said Adam Savage, Executive Producer and host of MythBusters.

The show is currently producing its 10th season and will air in early 2015. Meanwhile, MythBusters hosts, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, are bringing their all-live show "Behind the Myths" to Australia next month.
