Beyond Films is pleased to announce world representation on THE DEAD WAIT written by Paul Herzberg, to be directed by Jens Meurer of Egoli Tossell Films (producer of RUSSIAN ARK and director of PUBLIC ENEMY which premiered in Venice 2000) and to star Colin Firth (BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY, SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE) and to be produced by Sheryl Crown (Oscar nominated producer of SOLOMON AND GAENOR).
Scheduled to commence production in early 2004 the film will be shot on location in South Africa and will be a co-production between Sheryl Crown’s Rubicon Pictures in the UK, David Wicht of Film Afrika in South Africa and Egoli Tossell in Germany and to be executive produced by Mansfield Associates.
Beyond Films' Head of Sales and Acquisitions, Hilary Davis, is delighted to add THE DEAD WAIT to Beyond Films’ slate of quality and emotionally engaging projects. Set in present day South Africa and in the midst of the bloody and clandestine Angolan War of 1983,The Dead Wait is a story of courage, friendship and power – and one man’s quest for retribution 20 years on.
