January 11th, 2007: Beyond Films Limited and Bankside Films, a subsidiary of London-based production company Head Gear Films, have concluded an in principle agreement for Bankside Films to take over as sales agent for eight Beyond feature films.
This agreement is consistent with a strategic decision by Beyond International to focus on television program production and the exploitation of its extensive catalogue of over 150 feature films and 4000 hours of television programs.
Beyond Films’ London-based sales team of Hilary Davis and Stephen Kelliher have joined Bankside Films and will continue to be responsible for the marketing and sales of the eight films.
Mikael Borglund, CEO of Beyond Films’ parent company, Beyond International Limited, said: “This is a very positive move for Beyond.
The appointment of Bankside Films as our distribution agent will benefit the producers as it will ensure continuity in the marketing of these films while allowing us to reap some of the rewards of future sales of these films. We look forward to an ongoing mutually successful relationship with Phil Hunt and the team at Bankside Films”.
The arrangement is subject to formal documentation being concluded and approvals being obtained from the relevant producers.
The Beyond Group will continue to market and license its catalogue of over 150 feature films, including Lantana, Chopper, Strictly Ballroom and A Good Woman through its offices in Dublin, London and Sydney.
