The Chairman of Beyond International Limited (ASX - BYI), Mr. Ian Ingram today announced a net profit of $2,114,000 for the year ended 30th June 2004, an increase of 1,309% compared to the previous corresponding period.
The financial highlights for the period are: -
Consolidated revenue for the year was $86,947,000 (2003: $58,480,000), an increase of 48.68%.
Pre tax operating profit was $ 2,915,000 (2003: $439,000), an increase of 564%.
Net profit after tax was $2,114,000 (2003: $150,000), an increase of 1,307%.
Net cash flows from operating activities were $2,727,000 (2003: $1,104,000), an increase of $1,623,000 (47%).
Group net debt has decreased by $2,524,000 to $5,630,000.
The Managing Director, Mikael Borglund, said that during the last 12 months the company has continued to successfully focus on increasing production income from the US and UK whilst maintaining a policy of cost containment in all operational areas of the business.
Outlook 2004/2005.
With a strong worldwide advertising revenue market expected to continue in 2005 the company anticipates that demand for new television programs and films as well as completed programs will grow.
The financial objectives of the Company for the 2005 financial year are:
• To increase annual pre tax operating profits by approximately 15%;
• Pay a final dividend of 3 cents a share in late 2005; and
• Reduce corporate bank borrowings by $1,863,000 to $4,100,000 by the 30th June 2005.
The Company will continue to operate with a conservative financial structure, which is considered appropriate for the businesses. The focus on organic growth will continue, acquisitions will be considered only where they will not increase the financial risk in the existing operations.
