Half Year Results to 31.12.2004

24th February, 2005: Beyond International Limited (ASX: BYI) is pleased to announce that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITA) for the six months to 31st December 2004 increased by 22% to $2,224,000 from $1,734,000 in the previous corresponding six month period.
Net profit after tax for the six months to 31 December 2004 has improved by 32.5% compared to the previous corresponding period with net profit of $587,000.
Group revenues have increased by 8.5% to $29,935,000 compared to the previous corresponding six-month period. The growth in revenue is the result non-fiction television income increasing by 20%. This is consistent with the Company’s strategy of focusing on growth in the international sales companies and on the US based non-fiction production business.
Bank debt decreased by $360,000 to $5,588,000 in the six months and is expected to decrease a further $1,488,000 in the six months to 30 June 2005.
Beyond is confident of achieving the previously projected pre tax operating profit for the twelve months to 30th June 2005 of $3.3 million.
This forecast is primarily based on the following factors:-
1. The second half of the financial year is historically stronger than the first half in terms of generating revenue and profits from the sale of completed television programs and feature films;
2. The expectation that the Beyond Television Fund 2005 will proceed before the 30th June 2005.
3. The average Australian dollar exchange rate is no more than 80 US cents for the remainder of the second half of the current financial year.
Beyond has continued its stronger performance in this financial year and management expects the financial performance to improve in the next financial year. The Company is expecting sustained growth from the television production and distribution business both internationally and in Australia.
