Sydney, 4th March 2005 – Beyond Distribution will present a slate of blue-chip titles at MIP TV 05.

BEYOND TOMORROW (13 x 1 hour) is a cutting edge series that will change the way you think about your future. From the makers of the world’s most popular science and technology programme, Beyond 2000, comes a science series that looks even further into our future to see what is now in the realms of possibility. The series, which has been commissioned by the Seven Network Australia, is set to be a major success given its predecessor, Beyond 2000, was sold to over 100 territories worldwide, translated into over 30 languages and won countless awards. Beyond Tomorrow is hardwired to entertain the whole family.

Beyond is pleased to premiere RIVERDANCE – THE TEN YEARS (1 x 1 hour) and THE BEST OF RIVERDANCE (1 x 100’). These two specials, produced by Tyrone Productions, celebrate the rise of the international phenomenon that is Riverdance, from its beginnings as a seven-minute Eurovision Song Contest excerpt to a global dance spectacle and an internationally recognised brand. THE BEST OF RIVERDANCE features performances by Michael Flatley at venues including Dublin’s Point Theatre, New York’s Radio City Music Hall and a special compilation performance featuring the talents of the lead dancers over the past ten years.

Two Hollywood special effects experts, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, return for another much-anticipated series of MYTHBUSTERS (Series 2: 33 x 1 hour), the popular programme that uses science, special effects and problem solving to put urban legends to the test. Among the many myths tested are: If your elevator falls, can you save yourself by jumping up at the bottom of the shaft? Can you blow up your home by using too many bug bombs? Can you really be sucked down by quicksand? And how long does it actually take to find a needle in a haystack? Mythbusters currently rates number one each week on free-to-air network SBS in Australia.

Claudia Karvan (Love My Way, The Secret Life of Us) and Rebecca Gibney (Halifax f.p.) are back in action as mystery-solving housewives in the highly acclaimed telemovies SMALL CLAIMS (3 x 100’). Following on from Small Claims – The Meeting, murder, mayhem and motherhood are again on the agenda with another two mystery-thrillers. In The Wedding they must uncover the truth behind a crooked car dealership to ensure a family wedding goes ahead. But when there are dead bodies in the car boot and all the wedding party are suspects, planning the perfect ceremony isn’t all that easy! In The Reunion, Chrissie and Jo battle to save the day and find the murderer of an old school friend’s husband. Solving crimes never looked so good!
