Kids Hospital was filmed in the Kidz First Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. The hospital was built so medical staff can be dedicated solely to the particular needs of children. During its busiest times—the winter months—it can treat up to 300 children a day through its Emergency Department. Kidz First isn’t just a hospital though, the doctors and nurses are just as likely to be found out in the community dealing with issues like poverty and overcrowding—issues which contribute to ill health and disease.
