Fatal Fires pieces together the events of three fatal house fires. The events of each fire are pieced together from the perspectives of the people directly involved, witnesses, survivors, fire fighters and the forensic team who investigate each one.
We then reconstruct the house fires, showing how and why people died ... and conduct experiments which show many people are not prepared for the full fury of a house fire.

From a filmmaker who has spent many years documenting revolutions, resistance and protest movements in Latin America and elsewhere, Fond Memories Of Cuba is a mature and reflective portrait of Cuba, some 40 years after Castro took power. Wonderfully exuberant music and vibrant images counterpoint with a narrative often reflecting both the erosion of the revolution in Cuban and the filmmaker’s own recognition that the socialist dreams of earlier decades have been lost in current reality.

For nearly 30 years hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people have visited the tiny village of Abadiânia in remote, central Brazil to see a man who some call the most powerful spiritual healer since Jesus. They call him John Of God. Others call him a charlatan. Many New Zealanders have made the journey to Brazil but recently John Of God made a trip to New Zealand. More than five thousand people signed up for his healing sessions. In this intriguing documentary, Healer or Hoaxer follows the human drama of three of those people.
Linelle, Chris and Kim are facing death. They have terminal illnesses and have been told they don't have much time left to live. Faced with this awful reality, they put their faith in the healing powers of John Of God. Will he save their lives?
Set against a backdrop of incredible devastation, we follow the personal journeys of three remarkable volunteers who, when the Asian tsunami hit, dropped everything to fly to Sri Lanka to help. Both observational and character driven, this documentary also canvases the opinions of leading scientists to provide a unique insight into the mysteries of altruism and the true nature of humankind.
