Maximum Security Women's Prisons looks at the maximum security prisons holding the approximate 90,000 women in the United States of America who are currently incarcerated. We go inside a number of the most secure institutions and examine the lives of the prisoners there – some are murderers, many have been convicted on drug related crimes. We look at the prisons and the inmates own attempts (or not) at rehabilitation, and discuss issues such as childbirth.
