Australian International Documentary Conference A Success, says Factual Program Development & Acquisitions Manager, Jenny Cornish
Over eight hundred delegates in attendance made this documentary conference one of the most successful to have been organised to date.
Although production strategies are altering there is still a factual programming industry with audiences making the genre work for broadcasters and the whole forum proved to be realistic in its expression of this current factual program industry.
The down turn in licences and licence fees plus the diminishing number of pre-sales offered, have made producers more inventive in their project financing.
Beyond’s high profile enabled us to have first look on several projects which sparked off our immediate interest with other properties to be tracked as they progress.
As an international producer/distributor we were looking for series or single programs that can work internationally and are pleased with the haul that came our way and we look forward to introducing these programmes to all our buyers in the up-coming markets.
