BEYOND DISTRIBUTION CLOSES MORE DEALS AT DISCOP

London, 30 June – Following the close of the DISCOP market, Beyond Distribution has secured a number of additional deals with Eastern European broadcasters, it was announced today by Emma Simpkins, Beyond’s senior sales executive for the region.
In Poland, TVP Channel 1 have picked up A SEA OF SURPRISES while Channel 2 signed up for three more programmes from the PRIVATE LIVES series – GIANTS, LITTLE PEOPLE and BIG – as well as Beyond’s new blue chip wildlife documentary SEA OF SNAKES. In Hungary, Beyond has sold a 28 hour documentary package to Duna Television, including two seasons of BBC’S TOMORROW’S WORLD, SUBMARINES: SHARKS OF STEEL and CHASING THE MIDNIGHT SUN.
On the drama front, P&P Yugoslavia added to their existing deal for HALIFAX by licensing a further 88 hours from Beyond’s drama catalogue, including THE PONDEROSA and STINGERS for Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Finally, TV Slovakia picked up Beyond’s telemovies TEMPTATION and SECRET BRIDESMAID BUSINESS, concluding an extremely successful DISCOP 2003 for the distributor.
