BACKYARD SCIENCE DEBUTS AT MIPCOM 2003

Sydney/London, 22 September – Backyard Science, an entertaining children’s series that aims to make science cool and accessible, has been completed and is available at MIPCOM for the first time through Beyond Distribution and Penguin Television (formerly Pearson Broadband.)

Backyard Science (52 x 15’ or 26 x 30’) is a Beyond Productions/Penguin Television co-production. Targeted at 8-12 year olds, the series rips science out of the classroom and hurls it into the real world.

Based on the Dorling Kindersley Backyard Science and Kitchen Science books, Backyard Science features children from around the world having fun with science experiments that any child can do at home. Easily versioned for any territory, the series includes local kids hosting from a “virtual” studio, while the gang in the field gives dry science a shake-up, showing other kids that science is part of everyday life – and in the right hands, fun.

Beyond Distribution and Penguin Television will be launching the show at MIPCOM this year at an invitation-only event, 5.30pm Friday 10th October on the Penguin Television stand, R31.05.
