GREY NOMADS
Mary Mason is leaving home at 62 years of age. Although she has never driven more than a few hundred kilometres from home before, she is leaving her life as a mother and grandmother to travel the vast expanses of the Australian continent. Mary is a Grey Nomad.
There are thousands of Grey Nomads travelling around Australia and Mary meets many who shape her thoughts and ignite her imagination. Some have fallen in love all over again and rediscovered romance, some take chances by journeying to remote places, and others struggle to let go of the past and embrace the unknown road ahead.
They all have two things in common: a sense of adventure and the courage to take their lives in a completely new direction. This heart-warming documentary tells the stories of a few of these people - GREY NOMADS - and their travels through new landscapes in search of a new life.
Winner - Certificate of Merit, Chicago International Festival, 1998
