MYTHBUSTERS STORMS THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL

MYTHBUSTERS is the hit series that takes a light-hearted look at modern misconceptions and the bizarre claims of those Urban Legends we all hear but are not quite sure if we should believe... and puts them to the test!
Premiering recently on The Discovery Channel, MYTHBUSTERS airs in the coveted slot of Fridays at 2100 where it is performing well ahead of expectations. After only 3 weeks on air, the series has captured a 1.6 average rating and is appealing to both female and male viewers. Discovery’s belief in the program was evident in the high profile marketing campaign the series received both on air and through print ads in Rolling Stone, People and TV Guide. The series was favourably reviewed by Howard Stern.

The series is hosted by new talent Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who together have more than 30 years experience in feature film special effects, animatronics and toy prototyping. Bringing a quirky sense of humour and a whole new perspective on the impact of science and technology on everyday life, they use every trick in the book as they design and execute experiments to validate or disprove universal "myths".

Three myths are tested in each episode and these include:
The Cell Phone – can your cell phone cause an explosion when you are refuelling your car?
The Exploding Toilet – can you really be blown off the seat?
The Ice Bullet – can you get away with murder?
The Falling Coin – could a coin thrown from a height kill you?
Running in the Rain – do you get wetter than when you walk?
The Call of Nature - just how dangerous is it to answer the call of nature on the electrified third rail of a train track?
