Beyond is set for an action packed MIPCOM Jr with a slate of titles to entertain, amuse and educate children of all ages.
SILVER SUN (40x30’) is a futuristic live action drama series set in an ultra-modern spaceship. The young crew of the Star Runner are travelling 45 light years from home on the adventure of a lifetime. Their destination: the Silver Sun, a planet located in a distant solar system. Their mission: to deliver their cryogenically suspended passengers safely. And in between they all have some growing up to do! Aimed at tweenagers (8-14 years), SILVER SUN combines a fascinating science fiction setting with a serial drama about children living ordinary lives under extraordinary circumstances. Award winning Beyond Simpson Le Mesurier (Stingers, Halifax f.p,) is producing the series for the ABC and Network Seven in Australia.
NEW MACDONALD'S FARM (45x30') is a colourful new series that educates and entertains 2-5 year olds. Set on Farmer Max’s farm, along with wife Milly and all the animals, it combines music and songs with live action and studio pieces, introducing pre-schoolers to concepts of sharing and friendship in a fun environment. Beyond will be unveiling merchandising for the series at MIPCOM Jr following the release of Sony Music’s first New MacDonald’s Farm audio CD in September. Roadshow Entertainment, Australia’s most successful children’s home entertainment distributor, released the first New MacDonald’s Farm DVD and video in July, which quickly became the Number 1 selling DVD in its category in the Big W chain, one of Australia’s largest mass market chains. From the team behind the successful "Bananas in Pyjamas" and "Johnson & Friends", this innovative series is produced by Pacific & Beyond for the Nine Network Australia.
BACKYARD SCIENCE (26x30' or 52x15'), Beyond Distribution’s flagship edutainment series for children, is already proving a smash hit international ratings success. Capturing an outstanding 80% share of 5-12 year old viewers in Australia, the series is also a winner in Germany on SUPER RTL where it is achieving a 42% market share of 3 -13 year olds. Ripping science out of the classroom and hurling it into the real world, BACKYARD SCIENCE is science for kids by kids. Aimed at 6-12 year olds, the series is fast paced and fun, helping children unravel the mysteries of life, the universe and everything - all from their own backyard. The series is a co-production between Penguin Television and Beyond Productions.
