Beyond recognised as Independent Producer of the Year at SPAA Conference

August 16th, 2005: At The Screen Producers Association of Australia’s (SPAA) annual conference held on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Beyond International Limited (ASX:BYI) was awarded the top award, being honoured as the Independent Producer of the Year. The award was in recognition of the company’s extensive body of work as a producer spanning more than 1800 hours of programming over 20 years.

"This year's SPAA Awards reflect the breadth of talent and expertise seen on Australian screens over the last 12 months, which should give us all cause to reflect what a significant contribution our members make to the creative and commercial life of the industry," said SPAA executive director Geoff Brown.

The award comes at a time when Beyond is enjoying both domestic and international success with a number of its television programs such as Mythbusters, Beyond Tomorrow, New MacDonald’s Farm, Backyard Science and Hot Property.

The Managing Director of Beyond, Mikael Borglund, stated that the SPAA Award was a great credit to the creative skills of the management and staff of the production units of the Group, which are able to produce programmes that are successful, both in the domestic and international markets.
