28th April 2017

The first instalment of 800 Words Season 2 saw George Turner (Erik Thomson) battling to reunite his splintered family in Weld and bring his daughter Shay (Melina Vidler) home from her self-appointed exile in Australia.

In Part 2 of 800 Words, now as Editor of the News of the Weld, George’s new job helps him embrace the spirit of the town. He’s even fallen in love. But George has to balance his new-found romance with raising his kids Shay and Arlo (Benson Jack Anthony), as they embark on their own romantic relationships and set about finding their futures. George’s new girlfriend has babies on the brain, Jan (Bridie Carter) has babies on board and George’s bad boy brother Terry (Ditch Davey) arrives to rock the foundations of Weld, leaving a trail of broken dreams and hearts in his wake.

A further testament to the show's popularity, Erik Thomson took home the 2016 Silver Logie for Most Popular Male, while Melina Vidler won the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Newcomer - Actress in her first major television role. The continued successful ratings on Channel Seven had fans asking for more and a third season of 800 Words has been commissioned to keep the Turner family's story going.
