1st May 2017

Starring five friends — Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter — who band together to explore and learn in an overgrown suburban backyard, Beat Bugs is a children’s animated TV series inspired by the music of the Beatles.

And now this fab fivesome can boast a Daytime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program, as well as nominations in a further four categories.

“With Beat Bugs we started with the greatest songwriting of all time, and with a team of extraordinary writers, we tried to do it justice. Thank you to the Academy,” said Josh Wakely, writer, director and producer of Beat Bugs.

With the storyline of each episode anchored by a Beatles track from which the storyline takes its inspiration, the series features many of The Beatles best-known songs with many performed by today’s best-selling artists, including: Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds (performed by P!nk), Good Day Sunshine (performed by Robbie Williams), Magical Mystery Tour (performed by Eddie Vedder), I’m A Loser (performed by James Corden), Rain (performed by Aloe Blacc), Help!, I Am The Walrus, Come Together, Sun King, Penny Lane, Birthday, I’ve Just Seen A Face, Doctor Robert and When I’m 64.

Beat Bugs is currently airing on 7Flix and Nick Jr., is available to download on iTunes, and is coming soon to DVD!
